WHY I DO WHAT I DO

It has been said that love is a function of communication. I believe that to be true. I believe, by extension, that human understanding is a function of communication. And the better human beings understand one another, the higher the level of functioning.
— Dan Pallotta, Activists & Fundraiser, TED Talk: "The way we think about charity is dead wrong"

For more than 15 years, I've been honing my skills in the private and nonprofit sectors, successfully amplifying, engaging and converting. Now, I'm on your team.

Why I do What I do

After a successful seven year career at the government consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton in Washington, DC, I realized it was time for a change. I had discovered my passion in the pro bono work I was doing on the side for a medical research foundation close to my heart. Through that work, I finally understood that the nonprofit world - the other side of my second home of D.C. - was where I truly belonged.

Armed with this new clarity, I set out on my own to use my finely tuned corporate skill set, natural creativity and heart-of-an-activist passion to help organizations doing good in the world. After a two year focus on video marketing consulting (Motus Video Design), I accepted a position at an environmental education nonprofit as their Communications Manager/Strategist. However, my varied interests eventually pulled me back to the world of independent consulting, where I felt I could make a larger impact on a wider variety of causes, including political action, medical research, climate change, and more. That's when ADH Communications was truly born, offering a broad suite of communications services to my clients.

When I join your team, even if only for a short time, your goals become my goals and your mission my mission. Most importantly, you and your staff become my teammates. As a dreamer and activist myself, I understand that changing the world takes that little something extra in a person - optimism, passion and unrelenting hope in the face of overwhelming challenges. Those are my people and challenge is my inspiration. I am honored to have worked with incredible organizations (large and small) over the years, and the dedicated and passionate people that drive them to make a difference. Together, I believe we have made the world a little better.

I can't wait to do the same with you.
